Almost every woman I talk to says they have an idea that has been on their heart for some time now, but they’re not ready to get started for one reason or another. A few of them aren’t sure they’ll ever do the thing they feel called to. Is this you? If so, you’re in the right place…

The truth is that trying anything new comes with uncertainties, no matter if it’s starting a new business, picking up a new hobby, wearing a bright blue sweater for the first time when you normally wear neutral colors 😅 (IYKYK). It’s uncomfortable and sometimes downright scary! But there is never going to be a perfect moment to step into whatever it is that you feel called to do. You just have to do it, even if you have to do it scared.
Now more than ever there are so many resources available to help you.
Here are a few things I recommend to help you build up some confidence and execute your idea:
1. Pray about it. Ask God if it’s from Him and to lead you in it.
2. Do a little bit of research. Get a general idea of what you can expect it to look like.
3. Surround yourself with people or even just one person who may have experienced something similar. Pick their brain and find ways to support one another.
4. Set your first goal. Make it SMART (see my blog post about SMART goals for some guidance on setting goals).
5. Make the first move. Then take the next step… and the next one… and the one after that!
Remind yourself that new things don’t stay new for long. After a minute, your anxiety will subside and you get into a rhythm and start checking off your goals. ✔️
One other thing that I like to do to keep my mind and heart in the right place is to study the Bible via these beautiful Bible studies shown in the photos below — now available for purchase at yourstrulyjf.com.
