What’s the very best month to capture fall photos?
While this may seem obvious to you, it probably isn’t what you’re thinking…
If you want stunning fall photos of you and your loved ones, or maybe you need some for your personal brand, the best time to capture them is the season before you actually need them. Therefore, September is the very best month to capture your fall photos (maybe even July or August depending on the amount of time your photographer needs to edit & deliver your images).
Reasons to Book Your Photo Session Early:
- Better prices! Waiting until busy season (October-November) means you may miss out on better rates. Typically, when demand goes up, price follows suit. Look out for fall and holiday “mini sessions” as early as July and August, but you will find a ton of them posted in September. What’s a mini session? Miniature photography sessions are short and sweet appointments (typically lasting less than an hour) to capture a handful of images at a fraction of the cost. Sounds glorious, right? It really is!
- August is the new October, which means September is the new November! Call me crazy, but I didn’t come up with this on my own. Thanks to new marketing strategies, you (and your photographer) can find all the merchandise you could possibly need to create the dreamiest fall session during the summer months, including props, decorations, pumpkins, outfits and even those adorable boots you’ve had your eye on. No one else will ever know your fall photos were taken during the summer.
- Depending on where you live or choose to take your fall photos this year, the warmer weather may make for a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved. There is nothing worse than taking family photos in yucky, cold weather. Why do it if you don’t have to?
- Summer months offer longer hours of daylight, so sunset also known as the beloved “golden hour” occurs later in the evening than it does in the fall. If you work regular business hours, this point truly is like gold to you. During autumn, golden hour here in Las Vegas happens so early, around 3-4pm! Take advantage of opportunities to get your fall photo session scheduled before the time change so that you can have time to get ready for photos after work versus having to spend one of your free weekends taking photos.
- Did I mention that it’s practically fall to every business by Labor Day? It’s true! All the fun fall-themed activities start happening in some of the absolute best locations for photos during September. Apple orchards, sunflower fields, pumpkin patches are already happening. It’s time to make memories as you pick your favorites while simultaneously having the most beautiful lifestyle images taken of you and/or your loved ones by a professional photographer.
All in all, I highly recommend booking your fall photo session immediately. It’s not too late to take full advantage of ALL the perks mentioned above.
